In recent years the amount of information available on the Internet regarding Renaissance dance has grown exponentially. In an effort to make the current wealth of information more easily accessible, I have compiles information and links in this database.
This project is primarily geared toward SCA use, so it will focus on dances and dance styles from before 1600. While I will link to conjectural reconstructions of period dances, I will not include original SCA choreographies.
All opinions on this site are my own unless otherwise indicated; I take no credit or blame for the contents of linked sources. All files linked to are © their respective creators.
If there is a dance or link that you would like to see added, or if there is information that needs to be corrected, please feel free to send me an email.

This is a great place to start looking for information on Renaissance dance. The list of links there is far longer than what will be found on this page.
Eric Praetzel's Dance and Music Page
Music for many dances is available here, including both sheet music and recorded music. Many of the sheet music and recording links in the database come from this site.

This is a great collection of articles and reconstructions from all the major dance styles, most of which is linked to from the database.
Timeline of Dance Sources

Another good Renaissance dance resource.
Letter of Dance
A newsletter containing many useful articles on Renaissance and SCA dance topics.
Renaissance Dance Cheat Sheets
This is a set of instructions for many common SCA dances, written by Master Gregory Blount of Isenfir (Greg Lindahl). Most are linked to from the database.
A Collection of Dances Suitable For The Beginning Dancer
This is a set of dances I like to teach beginners. It includes some basic information about each style of dance and dancing in general, as well as where to find recorded music.
